Thought of Saint Augustine
It is better to wage war with hope of eternal peace than servitude without hope of liberation.
(De Civ. Dei XXI, 15)
If you elevate yourself, God distances himself from you. If you humble yourself, he leans towards you.
When did the Lord want to show himself? At the breaking of the bread. We can be sure of that: by sharing the bread, we recognize the Lord.

The Augustinians have been represented at the United Nations for a number of years. We have been granted ECOSOC (Economic and Social Council) consultative status in May this year. With this upgrade in our status we are able to designate official representatives to the UN offices in New York, Geneva and Vienna. We are able to submit written and oral reports directly to the ECOSOC Council, to be called upon by the Council for expert advice and to make use of certain services of the Council. We will be required to report on our activities as an NGO quadrennially. We congratulate P. Emeka Obiezu OSA and the team that worked on attaining this recognition for the Order.
