Order of Saint Augustine

"Anima una et cor unum in Deum!" (Regula)

Thought of Saint Augustine
Mary did the will of the Father, and that is why it is greater for her to have been a disciple of Christ than to have been the mother of Christ.
I thirst in this journey, I thirst as run ahead but will be sated only when I come to the end.
(En. in ps. 41, 5)
God became a man so that by following a man, which you can do, you will reach God, which you could not do.

The Augustinian International Commission on Initial Formation met at the Curia in Rome on March 10-11, 2014. The members of the commission are: Joseph Farrell (Vic Gen. Pres. VIL), John Flynn (Sec Gen. VIL), Alexander Longs (Mag. Prof. S. Monica NIG), Marco Antonio Coquis Ortiz (PER), Oscar Jimènez Portes (ANT), Jose Seidel (CAE), Rastislav Stuller (ITA) Dieudonné Kumboko Mbolitini (CON). The agenda included: a review of the function and organization of the commission and a review of the decisions of the Ordinary General Chapter of 2013, a discussion of a part of an interview with Pope Francis and the male major religious superiors entitled “Formation, a work of art, not a police action”, the creation of an outline of a plan for the next six years which will be presented for discussion at the meeting of Major Superiors in June 2014. A large portion of the meeting was dedicated to the review and reformulation of the Ratio Institutionis. It was a work which the former commission began by creating a supplement for the Ratio after the meeting of Formators in Cascia in 2011. The next meeting of the commission will take place in Chile, in October 2014.
