Order of Saint Augustine

"Anima una et cor unum in Deum!" (Regula)

Thought of Saint Augustine
The absence of the Lord is not an absence. Just believe, and the one who you do not see is with you.
I thirst in this journey, I thirst as run ahead but will be sated only when I come to the end.
(En. in ps. 41, 5)
God became a man so that by following a man, which you can do, you will reach God, which you could not do.

Augustinian Youth en route to Rio

Aparecida - Brazil
July 2013

A day after the Augustinian Youth Encounter ended, the young people in attendance proceeded to Rio de Janeiro for World Youth Day 2013 with Pope Francis. They were accompanied by the organizers of the Augustinian Encounter, by the friars of their respective countries, and by the Prior General, Fr. Robert Prevost, and Msgr. Alberto Bochatey, Augustinian auxiliary bishop of La Plata, Argentina. Midway to Rio, the group passed by the shrine of Aparecida, the largest in South America, and attended the 10:00 am Sunday concelebrated mass at the shrine’s main chapel.

The Augustinian youth, more than 500 of them, arrived in Rio in the evening and were lodged at our 2 OSA communities (a parish and a high school) and at other neighboring religious houses in Rio. There they will join with the hundreds of thousands of young people who have gathered from around the world to greet Pope Francis and celebrate their common faith.
