Thought of Saint Augustine
I thank you, Lord, my joy and my glory, my hope and my God. I thank you for your gifts to me. Keep them unharmed for me: they will be the making of me, and I shall be with you for my being is your gift.
(Confessions I, 20)
Mary was happy because she listened and kept God's word. She kept the truth in her spirit more than in the flesh of her womb.
When did the Lord want to show himself? At the breaking of the bread. We can be sure of that: by sharing the bread, we recognize the Lord.

Provincial Chapter in Province of Colombia

Colombia
June 2013

On the 17th of June, 2013, the Ordinary Provincial Chapter of the Province of Our Lady of Grace of Colombia began. The work of the Chapter started with the Mass of the Holy Spirit. In his homily, the Prior General, employing the words of Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians “Distinguish yourselves by your generosity”, exhorted those present not to give only what human reckoning might suggest, but to give much more. He called attention to the importance of having a purpose - and a path marked out to achieve it - so as to guarantee good results to the Chapter’s works.

On Tuesday, June 18th, the installation of the new Prior Provincial, Fr. Marino Piedrahita and his Council took place. Father Marino offered the Chapter members and the other friars present words outlining the program for the next four years regarding the various spheres of the Province’s life. This was followed by a luncheon shared in a spirit of fraternal joy.

The new Provincial Counselors are Fr. Miguel Villamizar, Fr. César Aguirre, Fr. William Carreño and Fr. Manuel Calderón.

For additional news of the Chapter, see the Province’s website at www.agustinos.co.
