Thought of Saint Augustine
Mary believed, and what she believed was realized in her. Let us also believe, so that what she realized is also beneficial to us.
I shall know you, you who know me. Virtue of my soul, go deep into it and make it fit for you, so that you may have it and possess it, without stain or wrinkle.
Everything outside of us fluctuates with the storms and temptations of this age. But we need an interior desert where we gather ourselves and live of our faith.
(Sermo 47,25)

Provincial Chapter Of Santo Niño de Cebu

Cebu - Philippines
April 2012

The Province of Santo. Niño de Cebu held its 8th Ordinary Provincial Chapter from April 16 to 21, 2012 at the Santo Niño Spirituality Center, Tolotolo, Consolacion, Cebu with the theme “Growing in Communion: Revitalizing Community Life”. Forty-five friars participated in the meetings and deliberations under the presidency of Fr. Robert F. Prevost, OSA, Prior General. During the opening Eucharistic celebration, Fr. Prevost installed and confirmed the Prior Provincial, Fr. Eusebio B. Berdon, OSA who begins another term of office, and his Council, comprising Frs. Andrew P. Batayola, OSA, Jonas Mejares, OSA, Frederick C. Comendador, OSA and Victor Gonzaga, OSA.

One of the highlights of the Chapter, which expresses the intention of the Province to extend its ministries and which affirms its missionary zeal, is the creation of three new communities or areas of apostolate: the University of San Agustin-Sambag Extension Campus in Iloilo City; the Santa Ana Sub-Parish in Burgos, Siargao Island; and a mission parish in the Diocese of Bayombong in the town of Saguday, Quirino. Additionally the Province has reaffirmed its desire to offer assistance to other provinces.
