We wish to communicate to you the news of the sudden death of our brother, James N. Daman, OSA. He was found dead this morning in his room at his residence. He was 58 years old. Until his death, James N. Daman was the Bishop of Shendam Diocese in Plateau State, Nigeria (from 2007-2015).

Bishop James N. Daman was born on 10th April 1956 in Miket. He professed simple vows in the Order 28 August 1978 and solemn vows on 28 August 1981, and he was ordained a priest in 1982. He carried out many apostolates in Nigeria and also served as the Vice Prior Provincial of Nigeria from 1997 till his appointment by Pope John Paul II as the Bishop of Jalingo Diocese, Nigeria in December 2000. He was ordained Bishop in February 2001. In 2007, the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI transferred him to the newly created Diocese of Shendam, Nigeria. May God grant him mercy and welcome him into the heavenly home.
