From 20th to 25th July 2014, the Vicariate of Congo celebrated with joy its sixth ordinary chapter since its existence, under the presidency of Fr. Franz Klein, assistant general and delegate of the prior general, Fr. Alejandro Moral. In addition to the nineteen autochthones friars who took part in various deliberations, it is worthy to note the enriching presence of Fr. Edouard Daleng, Assistant General in charge of Africa, Fr. Alphone, president of Belgo-German federation, and Fr. Peter, provincial bursar of the German province. This chapter was characterized by the spirit of a new start, franc dialogue, exchange of new ideas, the desire and the willingness to see the Vicariate of Congo grow not only in number but also especially in term of quality and or the efficiency in order to confront the multiple challenges of the moment, to engage in the management of some institutions erected in our areas of pastoral work. In this way the Augustinians of the Congo have the possibility to face the multiple challenges of the moment, to get involved in the leading structures of different institutions which have been created within our pastoral settings, to maximize the unities of local productions and to promote finally for self-sufficiency.

To succeed in this renewal process that requires above all the contribution and participation of all, Father George, the incoming vicar submitted for voting the names of those with whom he intends to work for the next four years . Here are the results: Fr. Laurent Likito (1st counselor), Fr. Guylain Mukwanga (2nd counselor), Fr. Lucien Gumesa (Additional counselor), Fr. Ernest Sugule (Vicariate Bursar) and Deacon Franco Berapayi (Secretary). Fruitful work to all members and God bless the Vicariate Congo!
