{if ($mydetail == '1')}{else}{/if} Panama City - Panama
April 2013

On April 19th and 20th, some of the Coordinators of the Secular Augustinian Fraternities of the Latin American North Zone gathered in Panama with their respective religious assistants and Fr. Alejandro Moral, President of the Order´s Commission for the Laity. At this meeting, convened and organized by the Coordinator of the Fraternities for the North Zone of Latin America, Vicky Zambrano, with Fr. Julio de la Calle (Religious Assistant in Panama City) and Raquel de Tejeira (Panama´s delegate), the following also participated: Fr. Jorge Lara (Assistant) and Gilberto Caballero (Delegate) from the Province of Michoacan; Fr. Emilio Alvarez, (Assistant) and Maria Asuncion Marin, (Coordinator) of the Fraternities from Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and Costa Rica; Emilia Rivera (Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic Coordinator); Abilio Dominguez (National Coordinator of the Fraternities in Panama) and Alva Piper (Secretary). The purpose of this first meeting was to organize the Congress that will be held in Panama City from September 17th through September 21st, 2014, the first Congress to be organized for the Secular Augustinian Fraternities of the Order by Zones. This is an important initiative, proposed and approved in the III Lay Congress held in July 2012 in Rome. The reunion in Panama was a great success, due primarily to the work done by the organizers of that country, who had everything well organized and who also welcomed us generously.
