Thought of Saint Augustine
Lord, those who are bowed down with burdens you lift up, and they do not fall because you are their support.
(Confessions 11,31)
Let us love the Lord our God, let us love the Church. He, like a father; she, like a mother. He, like a master; she, like a servant. For we are the children of this very servant.
So that we believe in Christ, dwell in his words. By dwelling there, we will truly be his disciples. For he doesn't have only twelve apostles as his disciples. He also has those who dwell in his word.

New Growth for the Order in Korea

Yeoncheon - South Korea
September 2012

On Saturday, September 8, 2012, the new church and friary of Our Mother of Good Counsel in Yeoncheon, South Korea, was consecrated and blessed by the Bishop of Uijongbu, Monsignor Peter Lee. Among the guests in attendance were Cardinal Prospero Grech OSA; the papal nuncio to Korea, Bishop Osvaldo Padilla; the Australian Provincial, Fr. Tony Banks OSA; and Fr. Armando Dayao OSA representing the Cebu province. All the local Augustinians, lead by the Delegation superior, Fr. Jacobo Seo OSA, and some 500 supporters of the Order in Korea were also present.

On Monday, September 10, in the cathedral church of Incheon, Cardinal Prospero ordained to the priesthood Matteo Cho Woo-Hyeong OSA. This was Cardinal Prospero's first ordination. In attendance was the Bishop of Incheon, Monsignor Boniface Choi, and supporters who packed the cathedral.

The thanks of all friars of the Delegation go to Cardinal Prospero for making the long trip out to the Orient to make the celebrations extra special and to all who have supported the Korean friars, both materially and spiritually, over the past 2 years, making possible the achievement of this goal.
